6061 Alloy cylinder with multiple cracks in the thread.
This cylinder is a vary rare cylinder that left the factory with many folds in the crown. Although there is no failure criteria for multiple folds in the testing standards the cylinder should never have been able to leave the factory in this condition.
The Visual Plus3 eddy current NDT device detected 7 cracks that were more than 1 thread in length. The cylinder has many more cracks that are not longer than 1 thread. View video of the cylinder thread.
